汉尼拔-LaGrange University’s SLP-A courses prepare students to work in the education or medical field as Speech Language Pathology-Assistants. Program instructors are Certified Speech Language Pathologists who currently work in the field. Students will combine practical experience with classroom learning as they begin to compassionately and competently come along side individuals who experience communication disorder.
SLP-A Course Track Options
While the SLP-A Track is not a degree or certificate program, students pursing this course of study have the following options:
Already Have a Bachelor’s Degree: Take 21-23 credit hours and apply for certification with 密苏里州 Healing Arts and/or American Speech-Language-Hearing Association ASHA.
As Part of a University Studies Bachelor’s Degree: Choose to take 21-23 hours of Communication Disorders courses as one of your three academic concentration areas. Once a bachelor’s degree has been earned, students are ready to apply for certification with 密苏里州 Healing Arts and/or (ASHA).
As Part of Other Bachelor’s Degree: Choose to take 21-23 hours of Communication Disorders courses for your elective requirements. Once a bachelor’s degree has been earned, students are ready apply for certification with 密苏里州 Healing Arts and/or (ASHA).
Careers in Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Once students complete the SLP-A courses and receive certification through ASHA or 密苏里州 Healing arts, they can look forward to a fulfilling career in a school, 辅导, 医院, 物理治疗, 职业治疗, or private practice setting.
