Chapel Exemption Form

Exemptions from chapel are uncommon and therefore handled on an individual basis. Exemptions are for one semester (excluding age exemption) and therefore require reapplication at the beginning of each semester. Students who are denied exemption may appeal the decision by writing a letter of appeal. The appeal will be reviewed by the University administration. The administrative decision will be final. Exempted students will receive chapel credit for the semester they are exempt, but they must still register for chapel with their other classes.

Students who fail to follow these guidelines are subject to loss of chapel credit and/or disciplinary notice.

By signing this form, I understand the following:
1. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval. I know that I am responsible for chapel attendance according to the printed policies in the current university catalog and handbook.
2. I will register for chapel along with my other classes.
3. If Approved, the student portal will show that I am absent for each chapel. I will, however, receive a passing grade for chapel.
4. I will receive a copy of this exemption showing "approved" or "disapproved."
5. This exemption, if approved, is only for one semester, excluding age exemption.
